What types of organic nail treatments area available to me?

There are few organic products which can be ordered online. Some of the products are Nail-RX Nail Fungus Treatment, Nail Fungus Treatment Kit Part II, Fungus Treatment for Finger, Varisi Toenail and Fingernail Fungus Treatment, Orly Nail Polish Fungus MD Nail Treatment and No Miss Fungus Killer for Hands and Feet.

What do the treatments involve?

Nail-RX Nail Fungus Treatment

Using pure essential oils such as tea tree oil, lavender, lemon grass and clove oil, Nail-RX treats nail fungus naturally. The product is applied to the nails two to three times a day for treatment.

Nail Fungus Treatment Kit Part II

Using base oils such as olive oil and coconut oil, other ingredients include Neem Seed oil, Karanja oil and tea tree oil along with rosemary, eucalyptus, peppermint and lavender. The Nail Fungus Treatment Kit Part II works by applying the nail softener and then the nail oils to the infected areas twice a day.

Varisi Toenail and Fingernail Fungus Treatment

Varisi is 100% natural and is applied to the infected areas twice a day for three weeks.

Orly Nail Polish Fungus MD Nail Treatment

Specially formulated to eliminate fungus and bacteria. This product is registered by the FDA and is supposed to have a maximum strength formula which also prevents fungus from spreading. It is applied with a dropper application and can be used on the hands and feet.

No Miss Fungus Killer for Hands and Feet

No Miss is applied twice a day and is supposed to be used for ringworm of the hands and feet.

Do organic treatments really work?

Though there is a lot of information put out by product manufacturers suggesting that organic products are effective, it remains to be seen whether or not they are effective for everyone. My research has shown that the results vary per person and depending on what type of fungal infection the person is afflicted with.

What if the organic treatment I’m using isn’t working?

If the treatment isn’t working, you should try something else. If you haven’t already, you should obviously seek the medical advice of your physician who can come up with a safe and manageable treatment plan to treat your fungal infection.

If I buy treatment online, is it safe?

Spending money online is always a tossup. Be sure to do your research and check into money back guarantees. Just because it’s being sold online, doesn’t necessarily mean it won’t work, but buy with extreme caution.

Do I have to go to the doctor?

You don’t have to go to the doctor, but you may want to. No one can force you to take anything and it doesn’t hurt to get a doctor’s professional opinion. Your doctor is also able to take a sample of the infected area to determine exactly which type of fungus it is, which can be extremely helpful with treatment.

Nails fungus is a kind of disease which occurs only on the toe nails of human body. The nail fungus is scientifically termed as Onychomycosis. The nails affected by this fungus become dark yellowish and irregular in shape. The nail fungus is very infectious in nature due to which other body parts also get affected and it spreads very rapidly. It causes many problems like lots of bacterial infection, pain, bad irregular nails and also loss of beauty as well.

But most important thing is it is curable. There are many effective ways by which nail fungus can be easily treated at its best. It can be cured by oral medications which includes antifungal medications. Some of them are Terbinafine (Lamisil), Fluconazole (Diflucan), Itraconazole (Sporanox). These medicines are very effective in nail fungus treatment because they not only kill the germs but also prevents from further growth. This process is little slow, so in order to get new fungus free nails you have to wait for “four to six months”. But if you are impatient and want to get rid of this fungus as soon as possible then you have to take proper precautions along with antifungal medications.

There are also many other treatments which can be effective it minimizing the nail fungus. Such as antifungal lacquer which uses nail polish named penlac to reduce the fungal infection. Another treatment is called topical medication in which a cream containing urea is applied thoroughly over effected portion for quick absorption. But all these treatments are very costly and take more time to heal the nail fungus. Actually there is no such perfect nail fungus treatment in the market. All are either very expensive or very time taking. So the better way is to take proper precaution because this fungus is very infectious in nature and if proper precautions are not taken it might spread all over your body. So try less exposure to warm and moist conditions.

Why are diabetics more likely to get a fungus infection?

If you have diabetes, you are at a much higher risk than the general population for nail fungus. Many diabetics suffer from nail fungus and this can have a severely negative impact on their overall general health.

According to the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE), approximately one third of the estimated diabetic Americans also have nail fungus infections. Poor circulation and a reduced ability to fight infection puts Diabetics at a higher risk for nail fungus infection.

Let’s talk about prevention.

Wearing socks and shoes that breathe and changing them often is extremely important to anyone, not just diabetics. Wash your feet and hands regularly, but be sure to dry them thoroughly. Be particularly worried about small cuts to your feet, especially near or underneath the nail. Avoid painting your nails as nail polish does not allow the nails to properly breathe.

Use antifungal foot powders if necessary and be aware of the moisture levels of your feet and hands, always wearing protective gloves or footwear appropriately. Avoid walking around barefoot in public places such as pools, locker rooms and bathrooms.

What are my treatment options?

There are many options available which don’t necessarily include oral medications. Treatment options include oral antifungal medications prescribed by a doctor, antifungal lacquers, and topical medications, surgical removal of the infected toe or fingernail and sometimes nothing at all.

Organic options might include applying apple cider vinegar or tea tree oil to the infected area. Some online resources suggest soaking the infected areas in Listerine and even applying Vicks Vapor Rub to the nail fungus.

What else should diabetics know about nail fungus?

If you’re a diabetic, you need to be extremely cautious when it comes to nail fungus. Diabetics are often at risk for losing parts or whole extremities because of complications from poor circulation problems and a poor immune system. If you suspect you have a nail fungus, you need to seek medical attention from your doctor immediately and will most likely be put on a treatment regimen which is right for your particular infection type.

Keep in mind that different fungal infections require different treatment so unless you or your doctor knows which type of fungus you’re suffering from, the wrong treatment may be implemented and will be unsuccessful.

Conclusion

For most people, a fungal infection to the nail is not life threatening. It may become uncomfortable and even painful, but typically it’s just unsightly. Diabetics need to be extremely careful of any type of infection, particularly to the feet and hands and should seek treatment immediately for nail fungus infections.

As their name suggests, nail fungus are fungal infections that affect either the nails on the fingers or the nails on the toes. Nail fungus infections can be distressing, as they tend to disfigure and discolor the nails that are afflicted of them; making them unshapely and uncared for – which might negatively impact the (subconscious) opinion other people who get to see the victim get to make about the victim.
Now the key to effectively combating a problem, any problem, is to get insight into the problem. So digging deeper into nail fungus, it turns out that the specific type of fungus culpable for the trouble they cause is the fungus called onychomycosis, which belong to a fungal family known as dermatophytes. The condition is contagious, and propensity for the infections is thought to be in the category of predispositions that can be genetically passed on from parents to their offspring.
Thankfully, there are some treatments you can use in combating nail fungus.
One of the top natural treatments for nail fungus is the ever versatile tea tree oil. One of the most clearly documented effects of tea tree oil is that of being a natural fungicide, and it is this that gives it efficacy at fighting nail fungus. The use of tea tree oil for this purpose is easy. All you have to do is to apply a few drops of the oil on the affected toe nails (and adjacent ones too, to prevent migration), and then rub the oil in deeply to ensure it gets to the fungus.
Another top natural treatment for nail fungus is olive oil. This works well when used alongside oregano oil. The idea is to mix the olive oil with the oregano oil in the ratio of one teaspoon of the oregano oil for every couple of drops of the olive oil – and then applying the blend so created on the affected toe for a period not exceeding twenty one days, and the problem should be effectively cleared.
Natural oils indeed seem to be the best way to go when looking for natural treatments for nail fungus. This is because yet another good natural treatment for such nail fungus is lavender oil. Lavender oil, when used in the treatment of nail fungus works best in conjunction with tea tree oil. The idea is to mix the two oils (lavender oil and tea tree oil) in equal proportions, the make use of a wooly material, say a swath of cotton to rub the mixture into the affected area. For better and faster results, one is be advised to apply the mixture at least of couple of times a day (but ideally three times a day) till the problem is cured. Both oils are known to have notable anti-fungal and anti-septic properties, and it is these that account for their efficacy at fighting nail fungus.
As with all home treatments, of course, these natural treatments for nail fungus come with a caveat: that should the problem persist in spite of your best efforts with them, you would be advised to consult a physician who might give you a more potent treatment for the condition. Generally though, these natural treatments for nail fungus work well for ordinary cases of the infection.

Distal Subungual Onychomycosis is one of the most common nail fungi infecting people today. It infects both the nail and the nail bed and has symptoms ranging from yellow stripes in the nail bed and on the underside of the nail, dry and brittle nails, a buildup of debris (skin and nail fragments) underneath the nail and the nails are often are easily broken, crumbly and ragged.

Toenail fungus can be incredibly unpleasant, causing an unpleasant odor and is often accompanied by athletes foot. Distal Subungual Onychomycosis is caused by Dermatophytes, which is the cause for 90% of toenail fungus.

Distal Subungual Onychomycosis sounds complicated, but it is a medical term meaning nail fungus infection. The fungus starts under the nail at the tip of the finger or toe. Other types of subungual nail fungus include lateral subungual, which means the fungus spreads from along the side of the nail, and proximal subungual, which means the fungus starts near the cuticle and root of the nail. All of the above listed fungi usually involve Dermatophytes, which grows in the skin, nails and hair.

There are many over-the-counter treatments as well as home remedies, however, as with all infectious medical conditions, it’s highly recommended that the afflicted individual seek medical advice and treatment from a certified physician.

Because fungus of all types tends to thrive in warm, moist places, it’s recommended that you keep your hands and feet as dry as possible, washing regularly and drying thoroughly after each wash. Avoid tight fitting shoes and wear open-toed shoes or sandals as often as permitted. Use gloves if moisture is an issue with your hands and change your socks regularly if necessary. It is definitely not recommended that anyone wear the same socks more than once.

You can also prevent fungi outbreaks by wearing sandals or slippers when using public locker rooms, bathrooms and showers. Wash your body (especially your feet and hands) down immediately after using the pool and exercise equipment. Remember to thoroughly dry everything before putting on gloves or shoes.

Replace your footwear regularly and if possible, be sure to wash with a scent-free or delicate detergent once or twice a month. Be sure your shoes are dried thoroughly before you continue to wear them.

The above suggestions may sound like common sense, but utilizing these tips will help you prevent nail infections. Always seek the opinion of a qualified healthcare professional if you think you may be suffering from a fungus infection and follow their treatment plan diligently and fully. Fungus infections can sometimes take months to clear up, so don’t be alarmed if you don’t see immediate results. Getting rid of a nail infection takes every day applications and sometimes requires oral medication.

Many people are bothered by toenail fungus. This is a common occurrence, especially those who work outdoors in damp weather and tend to stay in damp socks and shoes throughout the day. After a while, the dampness creates a breeding ground for a fungal infection that affects the nails. While nail fungus can also infect fingernails, it is far more common in toenails. Those who have toenail fungus know it as their toenails begin to become very thick and take on a yellowish appearance.

If untreated, the fungal infection will continue to get worse with time. Eventually, the infection can get deep into the nail bed and cause the person to lose their nail. The best approach to take when you have toenail fungus is a proactive approach and treat the condition with a cream that is used for this purpose.

Fortunately, you can treat nail fungus at home. You can purchase a remedy that you can use that will clear up the fungus that you have in your nails. This takes time and is not an overnight cure for the condition. With proper treatment, however, you can eliminate the fungus and have healthy nails.

When you are treating nail fungus, you should use the creams that are made for this condition in accordance with the instructions. You should also make sure that you get out of wet shoes and socks as soon as possible as this causes the infection to continue to fester. Fungus is formed in damp places that do not have access to air. For this reason, many of those who suffer from toenail fungus are those who work out doors, wear heavy boots or shoes and are often working in inclement weather. It does not occur overnight, but over a period of time, the fungus takes hold and the nails begin to yellow and thicken.

Not taking care of the nail fungus can cause the infection to continue to grow and eventually may even end up costing you one of your nails. In many cases, the infection will begin in your larger toenails and then spread to the smaller nails. It can become very difficult to cut the nails at this point when they are so thick. Clearly, it is important to treat this condition before this occurs.

Instead of resorting to medications to treat nail fungus, you can treat them at home using creams that are used topically for this purpose. If you continue to use these products as directed, you will begin to start to see an improvement in your nails. In addition, you want to be sure that you get out of wet shoes and socks and make every effort to give your feet breathing room as well as wear comfortable shoes and clean, dry socks. Once you start to recognize the symptoms and treat them, you will no longer have yellowed and thick nails and will be able to clear up the fungus infection. What is more, by learning about the condition and treating it, you will also be able to eliminate future nail fungus infections.

Nail fungus treatment should begin at the first signs of toe nail fungus. This is not an uncommon complaint, especially for those who live in an area that is damp and cold for months of the year, tend to stay in cold and wet shoes and socks and do not give their feet ample breathing room. It is also a very common condition among those who suffer from diabetes. A fungal infection will fester in an area that is damp, dark and does not have adequate oxygen. This is a breeding ground for this type of infection, although there are many people who have no choice but to work in conditions that encourage toe nail fungus.

You can get nail fungus treatment right at home by ordering products that you purchase on the internet. You can get the product delivered to your door and then begin treatment right away. This takes time to get rid of the fungal infection, but you will begin to see positive results as long as you use the product in the way that it was meant to be used. When you are using nail fungus treatment, be sure that you use it as directed and also take care to keep your feet clean and dry as much as possible.

Yellow and thick nails are the symptom of having toe nail fungus. Many people do not even realize that they have a fungal infection of their nails and think that this is just the way that their nails naturally are as this is not a condition that occurs overnight. As the fungus continues to fester in the nail bed, the toe nails will get thicker and more discolored over time. This is not a condition that will go away on its own and does require some sort of nail fungus treatment.

While there are medications that you can take to get rid of the fungus infection, you can skip taking any medications and get the same treatment with a topical solution that you can apply right in the privacy of your home. Once you have discovered that you are suffering from a fungus infection of your nails, you should then start to treat it. Never assume that this is normal or that it will just start to go away and clear up on its own. Fungal infections if untreated can eventually lead to the loss of nails.

Wearing dry socks as well as shoes will help with the nail fungus treatment. You will want to pay close attention to the progress that you make when you are treating the toe nail fungus so that you get the best results. You will find that over a period of time, the problem will start to clear up and that you will see some good results while treating the condition at home, especially if you take the time to also make sure that you get out of wet shoes, boots and socks whenever possible and keep your feet and toe nails clean and dry.

You can get good nail fungus treatment and home and eliminate toe nail fungus if you take the time to get a topical solution that is made for this purpose and use it as it is intended.

Nail Fungus – The Cure For Nail Fungus
If you have asked yourself, “How do I get rid of nail fungus?”then you have taken the first step to getting the cure. Medications are the next and but not final step. Nail fungus also called as onychomycosis, is a microscopic organism that doesn’t need sunlight to live. The fungi is commonly labeled a “dermatophyte”. But in certain cases mold or yeast cause the infection.. It is estimated that over 2 million people in Canada and 10 million people in the USA have it.Causes
Infection usually begins as a discolored white or yellowed spot underneath the tip of your fingernail or toenail. Because dampness helps the fungus grow, more cases are found on toenails then on fingernails. Artificial nails can promote infection by giving it a dark and stuffy environment to thrive in. Manicurists with poorly sanitised tools can help it to spread. The infection tends to spread to other nails once it is contracted. Care needs to be taken that it doesn’t spread to fingernails when washing feet.Symptoms
If you have the fungi then you will know. Your nail will be flaky, thick, discolored and deformed. If deformed, the nail could also be raised from the nail bed (onycholysis) and the nail may rub against the inside of the shoe. Once it starts rubbing on the inside of the shoe it can become painful. White dry material may accumulate between the nail and the nailbed.Preventing Nail Fungus
*Wear open shoes or sandals.
*Damp socks should be changed immediately.
*Cotton socks can help air the feet and stop sweat. You might want to use synthetic if you find you feet getting to wet in cotton socks. Synthetic blends may help wick the moisture away.
*Shoes should be worn in public wash rooms at all times.
*Flipflops should be worn when taking showers in public stalls.
*File and trim nails short and straight. Keep them dry and clean.
*Nail polish and faux nails should be avoided.Risks
If you have diabeties or a weak immune system then you are more succeptable to nail fungus and should make sure you take preventive measures like using antifungal cream.Treatments for Nail Fungus
There are numerous methods and medications to cure the nail fungus. Medical experts suggest treatment with pills is most affective. Pills get absorbed by the body and kill the fungus BENEATH the nail from where it starts and also on all other nails where it could have already been spread. Topical creams are used in concert with the pills to increase it affectiveness and decrease healing time. Powders and creams can help stop a repeat of the infection. Pills are typically taken for 3 months to curb the nail fungus while the healthy nail grows out.

Ah, summer. The season of puppy love, surfing, beach bums, and happy feet. Summer is sandals seasons. Besides the white, cotton clothes, skimpy bikinis and crocheted tops, sandals and flip flops also define the summer fashion statement. It also keeps our every step light and airy. However, we also have to display beautiful feet and pedicured toes. Sometimes a neglected beauty regimen, having soft feet and healthy toes says something about a person’s habits and routines. Often women forget to get rid of those nasty calluses, and forget to remove old nail polish. Another reason is that some are not proud of their feet – too large, unequal toe length, or bunions. Nevertheless, getting a pedicure is a luxury every woman must experience – even at least once a year. If you cannot get a pedicure, you can always do your nails at home. Using a cotton ball soaked in acetone or nail polish remove, wipe off nail polish in each of your toes. Then soak your feet in water filled with soap for about 5 minutes. This will soften your toenails and calluses. While keeping the other foot soaked, remove the other foot from the water basin and dry each toe. Using a cuticle remover, gently remove the dead nail cuticles. Wipe off the cuticles from your nails using a small towel or cotton ball. Once you are done with the other foot, you may begin to cut and shape your nails using a nail-cutter. You may use an emery board to shape them into round squares. This is the best shape so as to avoid nail splinters in the future. Using a pumice stone, you may scrub your calluses and take off the dead skin. Afterwards, rinse off your feet and dry them, especially in between your toes to avoid fungal infections. You may now begin applying nail polish. Use cotton balls to separate your toes from one another. Apply a base coat, and when it dries, apply your favorite nail color. You may use one-two applications as desired. Let your toes dry for over an hour. Getting a pedicure sounds like a lot of time and effort. But you should also be careful against toenail fungus. Toenail fungus thrives in any damp space, and when you fail to keep your toes clean and dry, you may be at risk. Avoid tight shoes, and do not wear damp socks. Toenail infections like yellow toe nails can be remedied using natural herbs such as Pau D’Arco or tea tree oil. Often, they are applied topically, and you still have to wait a couple of months to allow the nail to grow back. More yellow toe help is available online.

There are many types of nail fungus, but some facts remain the same. Fungus thrives and grows in dark, moist places of warmth. Poor hygiene or life circumstances can be contributors to nail fungus infections. Medications, emotional issues and other medical problems may also be key factors in why someone may suffer from a nail fungus infection.

Common fungi can affect the nail surface, the nail bed and the skin surrounding the nail. Tiny cuts or weak spots in the skin make for perfect entry points for live fungi. When presented under the right conditions, nail fungi can stay active which will result in a nail fungus infection.

Who is at Risk for Nail Fungus?

Anyone is subject to nail fungus infections; however, elderly people over the age of 65 tend to be at a higher risk. People who work in an environment where their hands and feet are constantly in contact with moisture, such as dishwashers, sports, etc, are at a higher risk.

What are the Symptoms of Nail Fungus?

Symptoms can vary with different types of fungi infections; however, typical symptoms range from a foul odor emanating from the infected nail to discoloration or dry, cracked and brittle nails.

If the nail separates from the nail bed, some mild to extreme pain can be a symptom of a severe nail infection. This typically happens when a fungi infection has been left untreated.

How do I Treat Nail Fungus?

Treatment options range from simple to difficult. You should seek the advice of a doctor to decipher exactly which type of fungus you suffer from so that he or she can recommend the right course of treatment for that particular fungus.

Though oral medications are sometimes implemented, they have some known side effects from long term use and can cause skin irritation or even liver problems. Topical ointments and paints may be effective in less severe cases, but the user must apply the treatment diligently and daily for several months and sometimes as many as 12 months.

If oral medication or other applied treatments are unsuccessful, your doctor may suggest that you have the infected nail(s) surgically removed. When this is done, a new nail is expected to grow in its place; however, this can take as long as a year before it will grow in completely.

How do I Prevent Nail Fungus?

Prevention is simple common sense. Keep your feet clean and dry. Change your socks regularly and don’t wear the same shoes all the time. Use powder to help with extreme foot moisture and avoid walking barefoot in public places where fungus may be found, such as public pools, restrooms and changing rooms.

If you think you may have a nail fungus infection, seek a medical opinion immediately. There are other medical conditions which present similar symptoms as a nail fungi infection and if it does turn out to be nail fungus, early treatment may be helpful to you in the long run.
